DESCRIPTION
A very rare 20th Century trunk by Aux Etats Unis (literally translated: “To The United States”) who was a French trunk maker founded in 1845, competitor to LV and other famous trunk makers. Aux Etats Unis has since disappeared, with the company eventually closing in the 1980s due to lack of demand for trunks but there is doubting the quality of its craftsmanship and can easily hold their own against the better known brands. If this trunk could tell stories they’d be the most interesting: the hermetically sealed interior suggests it travelled to some far flung places around the world. With its leather trim and brass hardware, it still oozes class today as it did over 100 years ago and would make for a great interior design piece in any home, both modern and traditional.
CONDITION
Some crazing of the leather banding, otherwise very good.
