DESCRIPTION
A stunning Louis Vuitton hat trunk in woven monogrammed canvas with leather and brass trim, France, circa 1896. This trunk is a must have item for any elite traveller harking back to times of passenger ships and 1st class travel of bygone eras. The woven canvas covering was the first LV monogram canvas to be produced and was only made for a very brief period towards the end of the 19th century. The brass fittings were “top of the range” at Louis Vuitton at the time and today makes for a great conversation piece, a great size for a coffee table or side table suitable for any interior, both modern or traditional.
