DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century Louis Vuitton steamer trunk in the famous Damier canvas, circa 1890, restored to a polished metal finish and in very good condition, steel borders and reinforced wooden laths, brand tag on the internal side of the cover reading "Louis Vuitton I. RUE SCRIBE PARIS, 149 NEW BOND ST LONDON". This canvas was the first "recognisable" print used by Louis Vuitton, prior to this M. Vuitton would use mono-colour canvas such as grey or brown and has been relaunched more recently with great success. It doesn't scream Louis Vuitton, it is a little more understated and would look superb in any period or modern interior.
