DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century Indian Colonial solid silver pair of inkwells, in a form of a processional elephant and rider, with a hinged lid revealing an inkwell. The detailed engraving is particularly crisp and ornate. Hallmarked M.R BHUJ, Maker's mark for Mawji Raghavji, an important Indian silversmith contemporary of the more prolific Oomersi Mawji, who perfectly demonstrates his rivaling ability in this magnificent piece.
