18th Century English exceptionally rare 18k gold snuff box, cartooche shaped, the hinged lid chased with a scene of a seated king, his guard and consul by his side, surrounded by a scroll and leaf boarder, plain base and sides, the inside of the lid is engraved with a Royal coat of arms and the motto 'quo fas et gloria ducunt' - Everywhere That Right And Glory Lead (the motto of the Royal regiment of Artillery) and 'Tria Juncta In Uno' - three joined in one (used by the Kings & Queens guards regiment), the box likely belonged to a seniour member of the Kings guards.

Hallmarked with a later French gold guarantee mark, box comes in its original fitted case.
