DESCRIPTION

Antique early-20th Century French monumental showroom display bronze of the legendary Rolls-Royce mascot which was designed by Charles Sykes R.A, the dark patinated bronze sculpture set on a massive octagonal marble plinth. Signed by the artist in bronze, Du Perron. Charles Théodore Perron (1862-1934) was a French sculptor, born in Paris in 1862. While in Paris, he exhibited at the Salon of French artists in 1895. He obtained an honourable mention in 1896 and received, subsequently, a third class medal in 1897, a second class medal in 1899 and an honourable mention in 1900 at the World Expo. A first class medal at the 1910 exhibition and participates, in 1912 in the Royal Scottish Academy Exhibition.
