Elegant mid-20th Century English solid silver cigar box and match box holder, beautiful and very stylish engine-turned design, applied with a cast scroll boarders, These two high quality pieces make quite the double act. The simple and elegant 'engine-turned' box is equally useable for cigarettes or cigars and unusal for its unlined solid silver construction. Rather than a typical cedar wood lined interior the interior is washed with gold to prevent from oxidisation. the all-over engine-turned decoration oozes timeless class with the raised foliate borders providing a hint of antiquity fopr the purist. The cartouche to the cover is vacant and can be engraved with the new owners name or initials upon request at point of purchase. Its little brother takes the form of a matching match box case of same date and maker and makes the due a rare and truly unique acquisition.
