A beautiful Hispanoaméric oil on canvas painting of a Madonna, painted in the 18th century Cusco, Peru. During the almost 3 centuries (from 1542 to 1824) the Spanish had a colony in Peru, to spread the word of Christ, important Christian temples were built in Cusco on top of the ancient Inca religious temples. Some of the most important were: the Cathedral of Cusco (1735), the Convent of Santo Domingo (1633), the Society of Jesus (1668), the church of Santa Clara (1622). This fine painting was undoubtedly by the local artists and comes with original hand carved wooden frame.
