Antique early-19th Century Georgian brass bound teak chest, with graduated rope handles and original lock. This trunk belonged to Captain William Prowse born in 1752 joined the Royal Navy as an Able Seaman and ended his career as a Rear Admiral.

The HMS Sirius was a thirty six gun frigate launched in 1797 and saw service mainly blockading Napolionic Europe. In 1802 Captain Prowse took command of the Sirius he command it in the Battle of Trafalgar
