19th Century Russian Import silver centerpiece in a form of a palm tree, the base of the tree decorated with various exotic foliage and applied with a figure of an ostrich, the four sided base embossed with flowers, scroll work and beaded boarders, bearing 4 blank cartooches. Hallmarked Russian Imported solid silver 84 ПТ (abbreviated in Cyrillic for 'imported goods', mark used between 1882-1898), further marked 875.M a silver standard commonly used in Russia in the 19th century. The centerpiece is probably originally made in German or Austria.
