Antique 19th Century Indian (Kashmir) gilt solid silver three-piece tea set decorated with a rare and intricate Kashmiri Chinar leaves design, known for their distinct, stylised foliage. The teapot features a graceful bud finial atop its hinged lid, while the teapot, milk jug, and sugar bowl all boast handles designed to resemble vines, each ending in a decorative thumb piece shaped like a leaf and Chinar seed pods. The interior is richly gilt. Each piece is not hallmarked, but acid tests show a 900+ standard. Made circa 1880.
