Antique early-20th Century German solid silver & enamel cigarette case, the enamelled cover is beautifully hand painted and signed by the famous artist Don Luis Usabal, renowned for celebrities portraits, his watercolors were printed in many collectible glamorous postcards, he painted theatrical celebrities in Europe and United States after he left Madrid where he was one of the court painters.
The scene depicts an amorous couple in evening dress, in a luxury ambient, stunningly hand painted by the artist, the painting is signed "Luis Usabal" and dated '10 for 1910. The hinge is tight, the clasp is strong and clicks when shut. The silver is Hallmarked German Silver (900, high Standard), Pforzheim, year 1910, Maker's mark "LK" (Louis Kuppenheim, important jeweller and silversmith).
