DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century German solid silver-gilt mounted rock crystal wine ewer, magnificent quality, impressively large and heavy, the ewer is made in the style of the Italian 16th Century Renaissance pieces, the foot, body and neck are set with panels of plain and faceted Rock Crystal, the silver mounts very decorative, chased with scrolling foliage, winged putti and a cast putti holding a bunch of grapes.
Hallmarked Austrian import silver (used 1902-1918), but the piece is most probably German made, dating to the late 19th Century.
CONDITION
In Great condition - No damage, just general wear.
