19th Century German Silver & glass large, extremely decorative Wine Claret jug, the cranberry glass body is beautifully hobnail-cut and applied with silver medallions flanked by winged figures, the clear glass neck is mounted with a silver collar profusely chased in a neo-Renaissance style, scroll handle. The hinged lid parcel gilt and applied with a decorative finial. The jug rests on a silver base. Hallmarked German silver (800), Bremen, year 1880's, Maker's mark for Koch & Bergfeld.

The cover is Hallmarked German silver (800 standard), Bremen, year 1880's, Maker's mark for Koch & Bergfeld, important manufacturer founded in the 1829. Serial number 7197. The base is applied with the retailer's mark.
