DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century German Solid Silver wall charger / sideboard dish, of good size, part gilt, of oval form in the style of the 16th / 17th Century silver sideboard dishes, the border embossed with scrolling foliage, fruits and grotesque masks, in the style of the early pieces, the center is finely chased with a magnificent tenniers scene of peasants drinking.
The hand embossed decoration is very fine, the dish bearing pseudo-marks typical of German Hanau silver, acid tested shows a 800+ silver standard, Maker's mark (unknown to me), possibly dates to 1870's.
CONDITION
In Great Condition - No Damage.
