19th Century German silver-gilt & gilded glass cutlery service, comprising: 18 spoons, 18 forks and 18 knives, the spoons and forks each with reeded border and knifes in early style and mounted to glass with a pierced collars. Judging by the quality of the glass, the handles are probably made my Ludwig Moser (1833-1916), a world renowned glass manufacturers and retailers from Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad, Bohemia), famous for his fine gold and enamel work on glass. Appointed court supplier to Emperor Franz Joseph I, the Persian Shah Mozaffar al-Din Shah Qajar (1901) and King Edward VII of England (1908), at the hight of business Moser held retail premises in New York, London, Paris and St-Petersburg. The knifes are hallmarked with silver mark 13 (812 standard, used pre 1886 in Germany and Prussia), undoubtedly all pieces are part of the same set and have all been tested as silver. The three tear set comes in its original red leather bound retail box.
