DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century rare set of four German Solid Silver table salts, richly gilded, exceptionally decorative, openwork decoration depicting scrolling leaves and cherubs, three applied scrolling handles, each salt resting on three cast figural feet modelled as bearded men holding the salt on their shoulders.
The set is very rare and decorative, made in the style of the German and Italian 16th Century pieces.
Each piece bearing pseudo-marks, as typical for Hanau silver, acid tested show a 900+ standard. The set dating to about 1890's.
