DESCRIPTION

An extremely rare pair of side tables by Anthony Redmile, made in London, England in the latter half of the 20th century. Anthony Redmile burst into the London interior design scene in the 1960s, producing some of the most eclectic items for his illustrious clients. Known to use items which were taken or inspired by the natural world, these items exemplify Redmile's work.

The table bases are encrusted from top to bottom with cowrie shells, the original glass top edged with a nickel frame and held together into the table base by a metal plate adorned with semi precious stones and a bolt with a finial that looks to be made from a half sphere of ivory. Incredible workmanship with good attention to detail, these tables would look fantastic in any setting, particularly a seaside home or an urban home looking to bring a little natural history into the decor.
