Pollard Oak represents the wood extracted from oak trees subjected to the practice of 'pollarding.' This ancient method involves selectively pruning the upper branches of a tree, fostering the development of a dense crown of branches and foliage. Originating in medieval Europe, pollarding endures as a contemporary strategy for maintaining uniform tree heights in urban environments. Through this pruning process, the tree develops a distinctive lump or 'burr,' resulting in a visually captivating swirling pattern when the wood is cut for veneer.
