DESCRIPTION
A rare and superb Montblanc Limited Edition 4810 "Patron of Art" Fountain Pen, celebrating Pope Julius II, considered to have been one of the most influential clerical patron of the arts. He transformed Rome into the cultural centre of the Renaissance and supported artists like Michelangelo and Raphahel and commissioned the world-famous frescoes in the Sistine Chapel.
The pen features a sumptuous gold-plated latticework design on top of an elegant cream-coloured base. The distinctive cap recalling the papal tiara.
The 18 Karat Gold nib is beautifully hand-engraved with the Pope's emblem.
The pen is in perfect condition, never used, it comes with the original outer box, lacquered wood display box, booklet and paperwork. The model dates to 2005.
It is a Limited Edition number 2323 / 4810.
