Antique 20th Century extremely rare set of three Italian Solid Silver sculptural table garniture, composing of a larger dish flanked by two smaller dishes, each beautifully modelled as sea gods, the central representing a mermaid holding a large shell, the smaller representing young tritons holding shells.
The quality of the sculptures is absolutely astonishing, all very heavy and well modelled, made by one of the greatest Italian silversmiths of the 20th Century.
One of the salts is Hallmarked Italian silver (800), Naples, year 1930, Maker's mark "45NA" for Luigi Avolio, a very important silversmith specializing in impressive sculptural pieces inspired to Classical art. His pieces are rarely hallmarked, and the clear hallmarks makes the set even rarer.
