Antique late 19th / early 20th Century pair of extremely large and magnificent Continental Solid Silver flagons, each of baluster form body is embossed in very high-relief with flowers, leaves and scrolls, the spout is cast as a mask, vacant cartouches.
This is an impressive and magnificent pair, exceptionally large (each 35cm tall) and heavy (5610 grams of solid silver), very crisp decoration.
Each base is Hallmarked with French pseudo-marks, usually used in German Hanau silver in the late 19th Century / early 20th Century. Although Continental the style of the pair is typically Victorian in style, the pair probably date to the early 20th Century.
