DESCRIPTION
Antique 20th Century Italian Avolio solid silver group of sculptures on gilded bases, a larger statue of Amphitrite flanked by two smaller statues, each beautifully modelled as murmades. The quality of the sculptures is very fine, heavy and well modelled, made by one of the greatest Italian family of silversmiths of the early 20th Century.
All signed Avolio (Luigi & Eugenio Avolio, Naples, active 1876-1930), a very important silversmiths specializing in impressive sculptural pieces inspired to Classical art. These pieces are rarely hallmarked, but has been tested 900+ grade silver.
