Antique 19th Century Exceptional Burmese, Myanmar Solid Silver Thabeik bowl, repousse' decorated in high relief depicting different traditional scenes from the Burmese mythology, showing detailed figures set against a chiseled matted background in continuous landscape. The top chased with scrolling bands and base decorated with a thick band of betel leaves. The quality of the bowl is outstanding, heavy gauge and very crisp. The bowl bears English Initials MC, the bowl was probably made for an Important British officer stationed in Burma, who brought it back to the U.K as a souvenir. The base is not marked with a makers marks, but judging by the quality it was undoubtedly made by a great silversmith, tested 900+ grade silver.
