DESCRIPTION
Antique late-19th Century Burmese (Myanmar) solid silver repousse' bowl, repousse' decorated in high relief with scenes from the Burmese mythology, representing various figures and animals in a landscape, with very detailed scenes, the base decorated with a dense betel leaf boarder and the top with scrolls and vacant reserves. The workmenship is particularly crisp and detailed. The bowl is unmarked as is often the case, acid tested shows a high 900+ standard silver purity, judging by the quality and style the bowl dates to the 1880's.
