Antique late-19th Century Russian cast bronze of 'The Cossack's Farewell (Kiss) by the renowned Vasily Yakovlevich Grachev (1831 -1905) St. Petersburg, Russia. The artist was the main competitor to E. Lanceray. Vasily stopped modelling after E. Lanceray's death in 1886. Both of them together made a realy great input to the Russian sculptural art by competing and inspiring each other during the period of 1873 - 1886. Vasily used to cast all his works at Woerffel foundry, but there are five other models known marked NIKOLAEV.

CONDITION

In Great Condition - no damage, just general wear, beautiful patina and workmanship.
