19th Century Irish Georgian impressive and magnificent Silver ornamental cup and cover, very heavy gauge, campana shaped on a circular pedestal base, the body is profusely embossed in high-relief with foliage, flowers and shells on a matted ground, applied with two embellished cast handles. The matching cover in the same style is surmounted by a large finial. Hallmarked Irish silver (925), Dublin, year 1824 (D), Maker's mark SB for Stephen Bergin.

Antique 19th Century Irish Georgian impressive and magnificent Solid Silver ornamental cup and cover, very heavy gauge (2515 grams), campana shaped on a circular pedestal base, the body is profusely embossed in high-relief with foliage, flowers and shells on a matted ground, applied with two embellished cast handles. The matching cover in the same style is surmounted by a large finial. Such large vases were the most fashionable interior design accessory of the Georgian era; the silver cup and cover in form of vase was at the top end of the markets fashion. Due to its very large size and impressive weight it can be used as a magnificent wine or champagne bottle cooler.

Both parts are fully Hallmarked Irish silver (925 Standard), Dublin, year 1824 (D), Maker's mark SB (Stephen Bergin).

In Great Condition - no damage, just general wear.
