DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century rare Georgian Solid Silver Salver tray, massive size and heavy gauge, of shaped-circular form with applied cast scroll border with acanthus leaves, beautifully engraved and chased with scrolls and flowers, the centre bearing a an armorial (anchor flanked by two fish).

The reverse bearing a later momorial inscription: "Reginaldo Hayward Vilico per Quinquaginta Annos Fedelissimo 1908 - D.D. Soch Alumnique Collegii C.C.C. Et B.M.V. Amici Sui Prid. Kal. April. MCMLVI".

Hallmarked English Silver (925 standard), London, year 1817 (b), Maker's mark W.B (William Bennett).
