ANTIQUE 20thC ENGLISH IMPORT SOLID SILVER & PAINTED GUILLOCHE ENAMEL BOX c.1919
Antique 20th English import solid silver and guilloche' enamel box, of oval form, hinged lid, the cover and the sides beautifully guilloche' enamelled, the cover is set with a hand painted panel depicting a lovely scene in the style of the French Rococo painter Watteau, it opens to reveal a richly gilded interior. The hand-painted panel is signed by the artist "J. Vallieres".

The box is exceptionally fine and well preserved, Austrian or German made to be exported to England, both parts are Hallmarked English import silver (925 standard), London, year 1919, Importer's mark "JJH".

In Great condition - No damage, just general wear.
