19th Century pair of Victorian Silver figural double salts, extremely large and heavy, each with two shell-shaped bowls flanked by two figures depicting a young Bacchus, the whole resting on four figural scroll feet terminating with Baroque busts. This an impressive and exceptionally decorative pair of salts; figural double salts are very rare, valuable and sought after. Antique 19th Century pair of Victorian Solid Silver figural double salts, extremely large and heavy (1380 grams), each with two shell-shaped bowls flanked by two figures depicting a young Bacchus, the whole resting on four figural scroll feet terminating with Baroque busts. This an impressive and exceptionally decorative pair of salts; figural double salts are very rare, valuable and sought after.
Each is Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, year 1894 (T), Maker's mark JBC (John Bodman Carrington - Carrington & Co, very important silvermith).
